This is about my i550 project. As far as I know hull #278 is the first sold to Austria, thus the project name shall be i550-AUT1. I will cover my work mostly by posting pictures, so don't expect to find a step by step description, there are others out there who are much more gifted for commenting their work. Last but not least: for all who don't know what this is all about, have a look at i550sportboat.com and i550.org .
Looking great Jan
AntwortenLöschenThanks.
AntwortenLöschen... Actually it’s Wolfgang, not Jan ;-) But no prop.
Anyway you are right, it's coming together nicely.

Looks great. I was wondering what angle you might set the twin rudders at also how is the bow area as I tried to use jig forward and ended up with a lot of fairing on the hull. Joe - Team Recovery - totalxs on i550.org
AntwortenLöschenHi Joe,
AntwortenLöschenregarding rudder angle, I have not decided on a final value. I got advice from someone to look for a max angle of not more than 12°. Then on the other hand CB's i550 performance package calculation is stating optimal upwind heal angles between 17.5° and 20.4° (depending on wind conditions). So unless I can come up with some easy solution for a variable rudder angle system, I might start with something around 17° I think.
Bow area currently does not make any problems, but then I have not started to install the frames. We will see how this might change the curve.
